The US-led coalition fighting Islamic State in Syria has denied it targeted and killed Syrian government troops. Reports Sunday said the coalition killed at least three Syrian soldiers in the Ayash area in the eastern province of Deir al-Zourm.
A coalition spokesperson said its only strikes on Sunday were some 55 kilometres southeast of the area, and there were no human beings in the target area. The Syrian government had earlier condemned what it said were US-led strikes that killed Syrian soldiers at an army base.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a Britain-based monitor, also reported the strikes, saying four of the troop had been killed and 13 wounded.
